Churchwardens & PCC

Churchwardens

Churchwardens are lay officers responsible for the life and work of the church in the parish. There are two Churchwardens each for both St George’s and St Paul’s Churches and they do a wonderful job of keeping everything hanging together:

Sharon Bradshaw and Janet Norris - St George's

Chris Lines and Peter Day - St Paul's

Parochial Church Council (PCC)

The PCC is the governing body of the parish church and is therefore a charitable body. It is a team made up of the clergy and lay members of the church.

The PCC are responsible for the overall wellbeing - practical as well as spiritual, of their church, the church members - and the church buildings. The PCC also has a duty to promote the mission of the church within the wider community.

Although St George’s and St Paul’s both have separate PCCs, they meet together jointly about six times a year, with a Standing Committee meeting prior to determine the Agenda for the next PCC meeting.
